Academic Progress Report (APR)

Your personalized Academic Progress Report (APR) in Workday is an essential tool to keep track of your degree requirements and credits. The APR replaces Degree Navigator as UBC’s degree audit tool and displays your academic requirements as listed on the corresponding UBC Academic Calendar entries for your programs.

Reading your academic progress report

Academic progress wheel

The Academic Progress Wheel will show you an estimate of the percentage of academic requirements you have completed for your program. There is one wheel for each program of study. A program of study can be a major, honours, or minor. For example, if you are completing both a major and a minor, you will see two progress wheels.

Please note that the Academic Progress Wheel only provides a partial estimate of your progress toward degree completion. Arts Academic Advising will not use this wheel to assess applications for graduation, as it is not a reliable indicator of your full progression towards degree completion.

Cumulative Average

Your cumulative average score is the average of all the grades you’ve received for the courses you’ve finished. It doesn’t count courses you’re currently taking.

Your registration appointment for the upcoming academic year is determined by your year level and cumulative average.

Unused Registrations

Unused registrations are courses you have registered in that are not currently counting toward satisfying your academic requirements.

Overall Academic Progress

The Overall Academic Progress section shows the total number of credits you need to complete your degree (known as your “Credits Defined”). You can also see your completed credits (known as your “Credits Satisfying”), your credits in progress, and the minimum number of credits remaining to complete your program.

Program Requirements

Each program of study will have a table that shows the academic requirements for that program. For each of these requirements, you will find the status of your progress, the remaining number of credits or courses required, the registrations used, the academic period you took each course, how many credits were earned in each course, and your letter grade earned in each course.

Evaluated academic requirements report

If you are thinking about declaring a major, adding a minor, or transferring to a different program of study, the Evaluated Academic Requirements Report can show you how your academic progress would carry over or be impacted by the change. It helps to answer the question, “What if I changed my program to this?”
